Tips for General Care of
Diamonds and Jewelry
♦Don't
wear jewelry when you're doing rough work. Even though
a diamond is durable, it can be chipped by a hard blow.
♦Don't
let your jewelry come in contact with chemicals such as
bleach, chlorine, or anti-bacterial hand soaps. It can
pit and discolor the mounting.
♦Do
separate your jewelry while in storage or transport to avoid
one article from damaging another.
♦Do
remove all jewelry before showering. Soap can cause a
film that is difficult to remove and some soap residue can
be corrosive.
♦Do
see your jeweler at least once a year and have your
mountings checked for loose stones or other damage.
